- Medvedev reported on the ongoing work of the Russian Federation to improve the accuracy of weapons
In Russia, work continues to improve the accuracy and range of use of domestic high-precision weapons. This was announced on October 18 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
"We continue to work on improving the accuracy and range of our high—precision weapons produced by our defense industry," he said during a visit to the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan region.
According to Medvedev, this is done in order to provide "new opportunities for the destruction of objects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU)," including objects that "are located deep in defense."
The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council stressed that the site also hosted tests of promising Russian weapons. According to him, various anti-aircraft cannon and anti-aircraft machine gun systems, interceptor drones and other types of weapons were presented at Kapustin Yar.
In addition, issues related to the development of air defense and countering Ukrainian drones were discussed at the training ground.
The Financial Times (FT) newspaper reported on October 2 that officials in the West and Ukraine believe that Russia has improved its ballistic missiles and significantly improved its ability to bypass Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs). According to the newspaper, Russian ammunition "in the last seconds" bypasses American interceptors.
