Ulyanov pointed to the consequences of the termination of the Iran nuclear deal
The issue of the Iranian aspect of nuclear non-proliferation will be removed from the agenda of the UN Security Council. This was stated on October 18 by Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's permanent representative to the international organizations in Vienna, in an interview with Izvestia.
"The day after tomorrow, the nuclear deal will expire, and the UN Security Council resolution that approved this deal 10 years ago will expire. As I understand it, the issue of non—proliferation will be off the agenda," he said.
Ulyanov clarified that now, instead of two reports on Iran, including comprehensive security guarantees with the secretariat that any other country has, there will be only one.
"And I do not know if the Westerners fully realized that their line of conduct would lead to this result," Ulyanov concluded.
Earlier, on October 11, Iran suspended the implementation of the Cairo agreements with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the nuclear program reached in Egypt. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi added that possible reports from the IAEA on the proposal to resume cooperation would be considered by Iran's Supreme National Security Council (NSDC).
