The broad support for the anti-colonial resolution confirms its sought-after and unifying nature. This was reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry on October 18.

"On October 16, the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly adopted the resolution "International Day against Colonialism in All Its Forms and Manifestations," the draft of which was prepared by a Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter with the active participation of Russia," the publication says.

It is noted that the document was co-sponsored by 23 states, among which, along with the members of the group, Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Togo and South Africa.

A new memorable date will be celebrated on December 14, since it was on this day 65 years ago, with the decisive role of the USSR, that the Declaration on the Granting of Freedom to Colonial Peoples and Countries was adopted, which freed the inhabitants of the Global South from the oppression of the metropolises.

Earlier, on March 17, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova drew attention to the fact that Britain lost the scientific and technological revolution in the 20th century and continues to exploit its "carriage of the past," including piracy and colonialism. This is reflected, among other things, in the kingdom's desire to send its military contingent to Ukraine.
