Austria will support the 19th package of European Union (EU) sanctions against Russia at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg on Monday, October 20. This was reported on October 18 by the APA news agency with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.

"Austria will approve the 19th package of sanctions against Russia at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg on Monday. In addition, Vienna supports continued pressure on Russia," the publication says.

In addition, it is noted that the situation in the Middle East, including sanctions against Israel, will be discussed in Luxembourg. Austria will be represented by Secretary of State Sepp Schellhorn, the agency adds.

Earlier, on September 12, it was reported that the European Union was finalizing the 19th package of sanctions against Russia. According to Callas, additional measures will be considered regarding the supply of Russian oil, tankers of the "shadow" fleet and banks.

Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl said on October 16 that despite Europe's aggressive policy, it remains dependent on Russia's energy carriers. In addition, she stressed that European countries such as France, the Netherlands and Belgium continue to import large amounts of liquefied natural gas.
