The analyst pointed to a change in Merz's tone after Zelensky's meeting with Trump.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz changed the tone of his statements about the conflict in Ukraine after a meeting between the leader of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, and American President Donald Trump at the White House. This was announced on October 18 by Zoltan Koshkovich, an analyst at the Hungarian Center for Fundamental Rights.
He replied on the social network X (ex. Twitter) on the Chancellor's statement published there that the Ukrainian side needs a peaceful plan to resolve the crisis.
"Friends... It's a completely different tone. Not Tomahawk, not Patriot, not Taurus. The world. Yes," the analyst wrote.
Earlier in the day, Merz said that Zelensky was unhappy with the outcome of the meeting with Trump. The German leader also added that he would work to support Ukraine "financially, politically and militarily."
Trump's meeting with Zelensky took place at the White House the day before. The head of the US administration expressed hope for the end of the conflict in Ukraine without the transfer of Tomahawk. At the same time, Zelensky noted that he was ready for bilateral and trilateral negotiations to end the conflict.
