Ukraine will not be able to recognize itself as the winner in the conflict, and the thesis of US President Donald Trump that both Kiev and Moscow should recognize themselves as the winners does not work. This was announced on October 18 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

Medvedev clarified that Ukraine would not be a winner "under any circumstances," as its residents and political rivals would not be able to forgive the loss of the country's territories.

"And it's not just that we need a victory with the conditions that everyone knows. This is an axiom. The fact is that the current Bandera gang will not be recognized as the winner at home under any circumstances... So Trump's thesis doesn't work here," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to Medvedev, the point is not that Russia needs a victory in the conflict "with the conditions known to all," but that such an outcome in Ukraine will lead to the "death" of the regime. At the same time, the deputy chairman of the Security Council clarified that the Russian side needs to be prepared for any developments regarding the supply of weapons to Kiev from Washington, including Tomahawk missiles.

Earlier in the day, the head of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, said that Zelensky would have to negotiate with Russia to resolve the conflict. He added that Zelensky also failed to receive a supply of long-range Tomahawk missiles from the United States.

Trump's meeting with Zelensky took place at the White House the day before. The American leader expressed hope for the end of the conflict in Ukraine without the transfer of Tomahawk. At the same time, Zelensky noted that he was ready for bilateral and trilateral negotiations to end the conflict.
