US Vice President Jay Dee Vance will arrive in Israel on October 20 to discuss the progress of the deal between the leadership of that state and the Palestinian radical movement Hamas on the return of the bodies of the murdered Israeli hostages. It is specified that Vance will also discuss the transition to the second stage of the peace plan of US President Donald Trump, which concerns the disarmament of Hamas and the creation of an alternative government to govern the Palestinian enclave.
Earlier in the day, Red Cross staff handed over to Israel the remains of one hostage who died in the Gaza Strip. On October 15, Hamas handed over two dead hostages to the Israeli side.
