In Kamchatka, rescuers began evacuating a girl who suffered a back injury after falling from a height on Lake Kuril. The victim was part of an unregistered group of tourists. This was announced on October 18 by the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory, Sergey Lebedev, on the VKontakte social network.

"A girl who was part of an unregistered group of tourists on Kuril Lake fell from a height and suffered a back injury. The organizers of the tour tried to take the tourist out by car on their own, but the situation only worsened," the message says.

According to Lebedev, the victim lost consciousness several times, and only after that an emergency call was made to rescuers. Disaster medicine and rescuers from KGKU TSOD flew to the scene. There is a suspicion of a compression fracture of the spine.

Lebedev noted that the actions of the organizers of the campaign demonstrate the wrong approach in such situations. According to him, in such cases it is necessary to immediately call 112.

He also added that on the way to the evacuation site it will be necessary to cross the Ozernaya River, which poses an additional danger.

A helicopter from the Disaster Medicine Center flew to help the victims with rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, regional rescuers from KGKU TSOD and medics on board.
