Rogov called Zelensky's visit to the United States a failure
The visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Washington ended in failure, and the plan to push through the American authorities and obtain long-range Tomahawk missiles failed completely. This was announced on October 18 by Vladimir Rogov, Chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on sovereignty, co-chairman of the Coordinating Council for the integration of new regions.
"Zelensky's visit to the United States has failed. The calculation to soften and push through the American authorities in order to obtain long-range Tomahawk missiles for attacking Russian civilian infrastructure has failed completely. No matter how much Zelensky barked, he was left without a Tomahawk," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to Rogov, the United States understands that the transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Zelensky will put an end to any prospects for establishing relations with Russia and draw the Americans into a direct confrontation.
Earlier in the day, the Ukrainian edition of Strana.ua" stated that American President Donald Trump, at a meeting with Zelensky in Washington, broke Kiev's strategy of dragging the country into the conflict.
Trump's meeting with Zelensky took place at the White House the day before. The American leader expressed hope for the end of the conflict in Ukraine without the use of Tomahawk missiles. At the same time, Zelensky noted that he was ready for bilateral and trilateral negotiations to end the conflict.
