A criminal case has been opened into the deaths of four people as a result of a fire in a wooden apartment building in Novosibirsk. This was announced on October 18 by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Novosibirsk region.
"Upon the death of four citizens as a result of a fire in an apartment building <...>, an investigator [of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia] of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Novosibirsk region opened a criminal case," the agency said in a Telegram channel.
It is noted that the establishment of all the circumstances of the incident has begun.
A day earlier, a fire broke out in a wooden apartment building on an area of 600 square meters. At that time, it was known about three dead and three injured as a result of the fire, which was first localized and then extinguished. As a result of the fire, the roof of the house partially collapsed.
Later it became known about four dead as a result of the fire.
According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, 46 people and 13 units of special equipment took part in extinguishing the fire.
