Gavrilov proposed to simplify the receipt of the funded part of the pension
The algorithm for obtaining pension savings in Russia needs to be simplified so that citizens can manage their funds without unnecessary bureaucracy. This was stated on October 18 by Sergei Gavrilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Property, Land and Property Relations (Communist Party faction).
According to the deputy, since 2014 there has been a moratorium on the transfer of funds to the funded part of the pension, which is why many Russians cannot receive the accumulated amounts.
"Those who are retiring now are faced with a situation where they formally have savings, but it is difficult to get them," Gavrilov told TASS.
He stressed that citizens' funds are actually considered part of the state budget, and therefore their issuance requires a special procedure. According to the parliamentarian, such a system has created a "legal impasse" in which accumulated pension money remains inaccessible to citizens without a government decision.
"It is necessary to provide a simplified algorithm for handling and returning savings so that a person can manage their funds without complicated bureaucratic procedures. Only with this approach, the funded part of the pension will become a really working tool to support senior citizens," the deputy said.
Gavrilov also added that the state should consider a mechanism for investing pension savings in order to increase their profitability and confidence in the system.
Earlier, on October 15, it was reported that some pensioners in Russia will have their pensions increased until the end of 2025 due to a change in their retirement status. According to deputy Alexei Govyrin, the increase will affect, in particular, military pensioners and citizens over the age of 80.
