Ex-mayor of Odessa Trukhanov may be deported and deprived of business
Former Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov, who was stripped of his Ukrainian citizenship, is facing deportation and confiscation of his business. This was announced on October 18 by a representative of the Odessa underground movement Stop Grave.
According to him, the decision of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, is not related to the law, but to political motives.
"Such actions, as with the mayor, concern only the authorities. The decision is made by the People's Commissar himself (Vladimir Zelensky. — Ed.) . What awaits him (Gennady Trukhanov — Ed.) is possible deportation, persecution and business squeeze," the source told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, on October 17, the publication "Country.ua" reported that Trukhanov accused the wife of Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, of having Russian citizenship and doing business in Russia. According to him, she updated her Russian passport and got her driver's license in 2020. Zelensky stripped Trukhanov of his citizenship on October 14, justifying the decision by the alleged presence of his Russian passport.
