Five simple and delicious pumpkin dishes are named
A conscious approach to nutrition involves the inclusion of seasonal products in the diet. This is good for both health and budget optimization. One of these products is pumpkin. Arina Samoilova, an expert on home economics at the X5 Club, offered ideas for simple and delicious pumpkin dishes in an interview with Izvestia on October 18.
According to the expert, you can easily make pumpkin pie.
"There are many recipes that you can experiment with endlessly. The base is usually a shortbread dough, which should be evenly rolled out and placed in a baking dish. And then add sliced or diced pumpkin, seasoning with spices," explained Samoilova.
According to the expert, the advantage of this pie is that it can be served both as a main dish and as a dessert. Pumpkin also goes well with salt and sugar.
It is important to cook baked pumpkin in the fall, which the expert recommended to serve as a side dish, seasoned with spices or showing some creativity in serving with other products, such as cottage cheese and walnuts.
Pumpkin cream soup may be one of the most delicate dishes of this fall.
"The sweet taste of the fruit combined with cream will appeal to the whole family. And thanks to its delicate texture, it is suitable even for small children as a complementary food. Adjust the thickness and filling of the soup according to your preferences," Samoilova said.
The expert shared the idea of a great breakfast this fall — pumpkin fritters.
"Grate the pumpkin on a coarse grater, add a couple of tablespoons of flour and an egg. Fry the pancakes until golden brown and serve with sour cream and herbs," the specialist advised.
According to the expert, pumpkin cookies will be an excellent dessert. It is only necessary to add a small amount of pumpkin puree to the recipe of your favorite cookies.
"Keep an eye on the consistency of the dough — it should remain familiar to your recipe, so adjust the amount of ingredients during cooking...Pumpkin will give the liver a more delicate texture, as well as a natural sweet taste," the expert recommended.
Earlier, on October 16, Evgeny Belousov, gastroenterologist at JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg Clinic), spoke about the beneficial properties of pumpkin. It is noted that pumpkin is a valuable source of beta-carotene (provitamin A), which does not lose its properties during heat treatment, but is converted into active vitamin A in the body.
