The IMF suggested that Ukraine devalue the hryvnia in order to strengthen the budget
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is putting pressure on the Ukrainian authorities to devalue the national currency. This was reported on October 17 by Bloomberg, citing sources.
According to the publication, the IMF advocates a controlled depreciation of the hryvnia, believing that this will help improve the country's financial situation by increasing budget revenues in local currency.
However, the National Bank of Ukraine is not yet ready to support the initiative of the international organization. According to the regulator, devaluation can cause an increase in inflation and increase public discontent.
