Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said on October 17 that discussions had begun on the construction of a tunnel through the Bering Strait between Russia and the United States.
"The discussion of the tunnel [between Russia and the United States] begins," he wrote on the social network X.
Earlier, on October 16, Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said that there was a prospect of building a tunnel between Russia and the United States. It was noted that it could connect Russia and Alaska through the Bering Strait in eight years. The construction cost will not exceed $8 billion.
Later, US President Donald Trump called this idea interesting. The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, said that he did not like such an initiative.
