This decision was made after new reports surfaced about his ties to American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of having relations with minors.

"During discussions with the King, as well as members of my family and her entire entourage, we came to the conclusion that the ongoing accusations against me are distracting His Majesty and the royal family from their work. With His Majesty's consent, I will no longer use my title and the honors bestowed upon me," Prince Andrew said in a statement.

The member of the royal family noted that for him, in this situation, duty to his family and country comes first. Therefore, he is suspended from participating in the public life of the United Kingdom. At the same time, the title of prince remains with the brother of King Charles III.
