Five-year-old Alim Alimurzaev from Dagestan, who was evacuated from China with the help of Russian President Vladimir Putin, died after a long battle with cancer. This became known on October 17th.

"He left us," Magomed Alimurzaev, the boy's father, said in an interview for KP—North Caucasus newspaper, noting that the incident was a heavy blow to the family and everyone who followed Alim's fate, supporting him in the fight against the disease.
