There is no point in doubting the reliability of modern Chinese turbo engines now, since manufacturers from China use the same technologies as European or Korean ones and have achieved a decent level of engineering and quality control. This was stated by Yulia Trushkova, Rolf's Director of Service.

According to Trushkova, it's not the country of origin that you should be afraid of, but the "crooked" service and poor calibrations. Modern Chinese turbo engines are designed according to the same engineering principles as Japanese, German and Korean-made units. They use a sufficient level of quality materials, engines have an adequate margin of safety and competent thermal management.

"If you take care of the car and do not save on small things, these engines run for a long time and quietly exceed 200-250 thousand without major repairs. So being afraid of them is just a stereotype that has long been outdated," the expert was quoted by Rossiyskaya Gazeta on October 17.

Earlier, on October 15, the Russian representative office of Geely admitted that it was aware of complaints from owners of brand cars related to incorrect engine operation on some models. However, these cases are isolated and not widespread, the company said. So Geely commented on reports in Telegram channels that owners of new Geely Monjaro, Cityray and Boyue Pro cars began to encounter engine failure, a possible cause was a factory defect.
