The materials of the case on the Coal Miners' park in Chita were transferred to the Zabaikalsky Regional Court. Several convicts have filed appeals.

The date of consideration in the appellate instance has not yet been set, writes ChitaMedia news agency with reference to the court's press service.

Earlier, the Central District Court issued guilty verdicts in this case, which involved the inefficient spending of about 50 million rubles.

Marina Popova, the head of the municipal economy committee, was given 4 years in a penal colony, and her predecessor Yevgeny Hutsul was given 2 years in a penal colony. Tsyden Tsyrenzhapov, an employee of the Vimpel construction control, received 3 years in a penal colony, and Mikhail Melnikov, the company's CEO, received 3.5 years in prison.

Earlier it was reported that after an inspection by the prosecutor's office, criminal cases were initiated on abuse of office, negligence, fraud and embezzlement during the gasification of Chita. The total amount of damage caused amounted to 365 million rubles.
