A man died in a fire in a wooden house near Birobidzhan.

A private house burned down in the village of Telman in the Smidovichi district of the Eastern Administrative District. The one-story wooden residential building was completely burnt out. A man died.

According to IA EAOmedia, with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the EAO, a message about the fire was received at the duty desk on October 17 at 4:20. When rescuers arrived at the scene, the house was engulfed in flames, the roof collapsed.

The building was extinguished for more than six hours. The body of a 61-year-old man was found inside.

The main versions of the incident include smoking in the bed, a faulty stove and problems with electrical equipment.

On the same day, a fire was reported in a school building in the Lena district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The fire area was 768 sq. m. There were no casualties.
