The political scientist spoke about a possible meeting place between Putin and Trump in Budapest.

A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump in Budapest may take place at the Presidential Palace (Sandor's Palace). This opinion was shared by political analyst Ivan Mezyuho in a conversation with Izvestia on October 17.

"Perhaps the summit will be held at the presidential palace. Of course, for [the Hungarian Prime Minister] Viktor Orban's issue of organizing the security of such an event is an extremely difficult topic. Perhaps little Hungary has never participated in such serious geopolitical events. And the meeting between Putin and Trump in the current conditions is really a big geopolitical event," the expert said.

Answering a question about Hungary's ability to provide the necessary level of security for such a meeting, Mezyuho noted that both the Russian and US special services would assist their Hungarian colleagues to achieve this goal.

The Presidential Palace is located in the Buda Fortress on St. George's Square in Budapest.
