Military personnel of the Center group told about the liberation of Novopavlovka in the DPR

Military personnel of the 55th separate Guards motorized Rifle brigade (mountain) of the Center group of forces told the details of the liberation of the settlement of Novopavlovka of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on October 17 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It is specified that before the start of the operation to liberate the settlement, reconnaissance was carried out. It was noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have created a multi-level defense.

"We were on the defensive: we fortified, repelled the attacks that the enemy was undertaking. It all lasted until about the end of the summer," explained the battalion's deputy commander, Captain Alexander Drobotov.

The operation began with the actions of small groups that secretly infiltrated the outskirts of the village at night. At this time, the stormtroopers used distracting techniques. among them are artillery strikes on neighboring areas. For several weeks, Russian military personnel, being inside Novopavlovka, observed the actions of Ukrainians. They recorded the movements of the AFU personnel, supply routes and the location of firing points.

After the accumulation of data, the stage of active actions began. With the support of artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the assault groups destroyed machine-gun crews, mortar positions and enemy fortifications.

"We started by occupying small forest belts near the village of Novopavlovka. After the capture of the Butterfly stronghold, they occupied a number of forest belts. Then they started seeping directly into Novopavlovka itself...> Began to clean up. By noon, the sweep was completed," said the commander of the assault platoon, junior Sergeant Sergei Bozhkov.

The Defense Ministry added that the Ukrainian military attempted to hold the settlement, but their actions were disorganized.

After securing their positions in Novopavlovka, our soldiers carried out engineering barriers, blocked the possible approach routes of the reserves and thwarted attempts at counter-offensives.

The operation to liberate Novopavlovka demonstrated the high effectiveness of modern tactics of small assault groups interacting with artillery, UAVs and reconnaissance. The coordinated actions of the units of the Center group of forces made it possible to significantly strengthen positions on the approaches to Krasnoarmeysk and create conditions for the development of the offensive.
