The Ministry of Finance has taken harsh measures against Apple for non-compliance with the requirements of the Federal Antimonopoly Service

The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation supports the requirement of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) for Apple to ensure that devices with the iOS operating system can use Russian search engines by default. This was announced on October 16 by the head of the Ministry, Maksut Shadaev.

"The Ministry of Finance supports the position of the Federal Antimonopoly Service on Apple's unconditional fulfillment of the requirements for the search engine selection window. In case of non—compliance, strict liability must be introduced," the minister told TASS.

He noted that Google has already fulfilled a similar requirement.

Earlier, on September 8, it was reported that the Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined Apple 3.5 million rubles for refusing to remove prohibited content on the Network.
