The politician who became Trump's opponent is the third high-ranking opponent of the former president, against whom a criminal case has been opened over the past month.

The charges were based on the results of searches conducted by the FBI in August at Bolton's Washington office and his home in Bethesda, Maryland. During the investigative actions, numerous documents marked "secret", "confidential" and "top secret" were seized.
