- The capital's charity service has collected donations of 250 million rubles in five years.
Since October 2020, through a charity service on the capital's portal mos.ru Muscovites donated more than 250 million rubles. In total, citizens have made over 660,000 charitable transfers, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina.
The average donation amount is about 380 rubles. More than 46% of transfers went to programs for helping children and foster families. Since January of this year, the service has collected donations of 72 million rubles.
"At the first stage, the project brought together six non-profit organizations, and now there are more than 100 of them," Sergunina said.
The service unites NGOs that are registered in the registry of charitable organizations in the capital and regularly report on the use of the collected money. These organizations support seriously ill children and adults, people with special needs, the poor and those in difficult situations. The funds raised are also used for environmental and other socially significant initiatives.
A year ago, the service introduced the "Combat Participants" section, where you can support NGOs that help veterans and home front workers, soldiers on the front line, and deliver humanitarian aid to residents of new and border regions affected by the fighting.
Donations also go to help homeless animals, such as the construction of new shelters, the purchase of feed, and the services of veterinarians.
You can select a program and enter the transfer amount on the main project page. Those who wish can also create their own collection.
