Data on Russian drones allegedly appearing in the skies over Europe in recent months are "mythical incidents" that allow and help strengthen the military-industrial complex (MIC) of European states. Yulia Zhdanova, head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, told Izvestia on October 16.

"The drone provocations staged in Europe over the past few months, which are naturally directed against the Russian Federation, these mythical incidents, are being used to strengthen the military—industrial complex of European states," Zhdanova said.

She added that the more people in the European Union (EU) talk about the non—existent Russian threat — in Poland, Romania, the Baltic States, Finland, Denmark and Germany - the more European taxpayers' money is spent on purchasing their own missile defense (ABM) and electronic warfare (EW) systems.

"Impulsive decisions are being made immediately on further pumping up the eastern flank of NATO and the European Union with weapons and equipment. We have all recently witnessed how the Baltic Sentinel project was launched, then the Eastern Sentinel," Zhdanova said.

These projects have three goals. First, to rally the allies and the whole of Europe in the wake of anti-Russian demonization. Secondly, to ensure support for the course of further military assistance to Kiev and to consolidate the line of sanctions pressure against Russia.

"We see that Europe continues to operate according to the schemes of the Cold War. What are they actually doing? They wrap the border with the Russian Federation with barbed wire. They are actually building anti-tank ditches and minefields. And now they're talking about a wall of drones," the expert pointed out.

On September 19, Norbert Roettgen, a deputy from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), a member of the ruling coalition of Germany, announced the need to create a "drone wall" along the entire eastern border of NATO. At the same time, Roettgen does not support the idea of fighting drones in Ukrainian airspace, as this would mean using NATO weapons outside the territory of the alliance.

On October 6, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that reconnaissance drones had been spotted over German territory, and called this situation a serious threat. On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that many European politicians often falsely accuse Russia of "really strange" incidents involving alleged UAVs over their countries.

Co-chair of the party "Alternative for Germany" (ADH) Tino Chrupala October 16, noted that Marco should stop groundless to accuse Russia of launching drones because of alleged threats to Europe and Germany, because such statements irresponsible and can lead to a polarization of society.
