UAZ was second only to one Chinese model in the pickup truck market.

UAZ Pickup took the second place in the segment in terms of sales in the Russian market in 2025, second only to the Chinese JAC T9. This follows from the data of the analytical agency Autostat, which Izvestia reviewed on October 17.

So, in the first nine months of this year, 2,315 new copies of the JAC T9 pickup truck were sold in Russia, which is 80.3% more than in the same period last year. This model, as previously reported in October, is already being produced on the assembly line of the Sollers enterprise. The UAZ Pickup truck became the second in the rating with a score of 1,826 units, and its sales fell by 38.5% over the year.

The third place went to Great Wall Poer, followed by Sollers ST6 (produced at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant based on the JAC model), Changan Hunter, Foton Tunland and Ram 1500. The top ten was rounded out by GWM Poer Kingkong and two JAC models — T8 and T8 Pro. Sales improved the most during the year at Foton Tunland (+173.1%), and worsened at Great Wall Poer (-50.8%).

In just nine months, 15.2 thousand new pickups were sold in Russia, which is 25.7% less year-on-year. In the brand ranking, the top five were formed by JAC, Great Wall, UAZ, Sollers and Changan.

As for September, 1,652 pickups were sold in Russia in early autumn (-40.2% YoY). The market for new pickups has been falling for the seventh month in a row (since March) and for the second month it has been falling by 40%. The most popular brand among pickups in September was the JAC, and the model was the JAC T9 (in August, Great Wall and Great Wall Poer were in the lead, respectively). The RAM 1500 pickup truck, which is not officially shipped to Russia, took second place in September. And the RAM brand itself entered the top three for the first time at the end of the month.
