Volkswagen will discontinue production of the Touareg model in 2026. The brand's flagship crossover will not receive a direct successor, but it is possible that an electric car will enter the market under this name in a few years, Carscoops reported on October 16.

Global sales of the Volkswagen Touareg exceeded 1.2 million units. In total, 471 thousand Touaregs of the first generation (2002-2009), 483 thousand of the second (2010-2018) and 265 thousand of the third (2018-2026) were sold. In all three generations, the crossover was officially introduced to the Russian market, the model was even produced at the plant in Kaluga.

In honor of the imminent completion of Touareg production, the German concern announced a farewell version of the SUV called the Final Edition. It differs from other crossovers of this model by a memorable engraving: the inscriptions on the window frames of the rear doors, thresholds and interior elements indicate the ownership in the special version.

Orders for the Touareg Final Edition will be accepted in Europe until the end of March 2026, after the assembly of cars for all customers, the model will be removed from the assembly line. Its price ranges from €75 thousand to €103 thousand.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Russia has begun accepting orders for Hongqi H9 executive sedans in a new modification, which is characterized by a powerful engine and the presence of an all-wheel drive system. The restyled H9 is offered to Russians with a three-liter turbocharged V6 engine with a capacity of 326 hp (450 Nm), a classic eight-speed automatic and an all-wheel drive transmission. The price of the car is 9.99 million rubles.
