Zelensky intends to discuss increasing pressure on Russia with Trump
On October 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he intends to discuss increasing pressure on Russia during a meeting with his American counterpart Donald Trump.
"The momentum for achieving peace in the Middle East is important now. This is also possible in Europe. This is exactly what I will be talking about today and tomorrow in Washington," Zelensky wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, "strong decisions" that depend on the United States, Europe and other partners of Kiev can help Ukraine. Zelensky called for the use of "pressure language."
On October 13, Trump confirmed his readiness to meet with Zelensky at the White House on Friday, October 17. However, the American leader did not provide any details about the upcoming conversation. Zelensky also received an official invitation to visit Washington.
Earlier, on October 6, the US president announced that he had actually made a decision on the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, but did not explain what it was. He clarified that he would like to know the purpose of using missiles and would not like to see an escalation in the Ukrainian conflict.
