Chery's Jetour Zongheng G700 has become the first SUV in history to successfully ford the 1.5 km wide Yangtze River. This was reported by CarNewsChina on October 16.

The start of the unusual "arrival" was given from the ferry terminal of Heisha Zhou in the city of Wuhu, where the headquarters of Chery is located. The car covered a distance of 1,480 m in 22 minutes. The current velocity was 5-10 km/h. It is noted that throughout the journey, the SUV maintained a stable position on the water, moving at a speed of about 7 km / h, before reaching the Nanlong ferry terminal.

A special feature of the Zongheng G700 is the waterproof body, thanks to which the SUV can overcome water obstacles up to 970 mm deep for a long time. It is equipped with a two-liter internal combustion engine and two electric motors, which develops a total of 761 hp (795 Nm), allowing you to accelerate from zero to "hundred" in 4.6 seconds and driving up to 1400 km without stopping.

The start of sales of the Zongheng G700 in China is scheduled for October 19th. The price varies from 349.9 thousand to 429.9 thousand yuan (3.86 million — 4.74 million rubles in translation).
