In Chita, a pensioner lost a large sum due to phone fraud. The court decided to take into custody a 22-year-old girl who is suspected of participating in a criminal scheme as a courier.

In August and September, scammers contacted an elderly woman on behalf of a telecommunications company and law enforcement agencies. They convinced the woman to transfer 920 thousand rubles with couriers first, and then 700 thousand rubles. In addition, the criminals tried to persuade the victim to sell the apartment. This is reported by the ChitaMedia news agency.

According to investigators, the 22-year-old girl was one of the couriers of the criminal group. She arrived in Chita, where she received part of the money from the victim, and then was detained by police officers.

In Apatity (Murmansk region), a young woman gave almost 12.5 million rubles to fraudsters. She took part of the amount from her parents' safe.
