In Dagestan, five people became infected with botulism after eating homemade canned food. This was announced on October 16 in the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic.

According to the Republican Center for Infectious Diseases (RCIB), two families were admitted to the hospital. They are currently undergoing intensive care to save people's lives.
"Two families with severe forms of botulism are being rescued by doctors of the Republican Center for Infectious Diseases. Intensive care specialists are doing everything possible to preserve people's lives and health," the department's Telegram channel says.
Prior to that, on September 23, a correspondent for Izvestia reported that the court had dismissed a claim for compensation for moral damage to Muscovite Nelly Matveeva, who claimed that she had suffered botulism after consuming products from the Samokat delivery service. Representatives of Smart Retail LLC (Samokat service) throughout the entire process expressed their willingness to conclude an amicable agreement, but the proposed amount of compensation did not suit the plaintiff.
