Residents of the Murmansk region consume bread 1.5 times lower than normal

The consumption of bread products per inhabitant of the Murmansk region turned out to be almost 1.5 times lower than normal. This is reported by the press service of Murmanskstat on World Bread Day, which is celebrated annually on October 16.

In 2024, one Murmansk resident ate an average of 68 kg of bread and pasta in terms of flour, cereals and legumes. At the same time, the norm recommended by the Russian Ministry of Health is 97 kg of such products per year.

Experts also estimated that, compared with 2023, the level of consumption of bread products per person increased by an average of 100 grams.

According to Bi-port news agency, in total, more than 19 thousand tons of bread and bakery products were produced in the region in 2024.
