The capital's budget will allocate 810 billion rubles for social support of Muscovites next year. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told about this on his channel in the MAX messenger.

The capital's budget expenditures for 2026 in social areas include financing benefits and payments to elderly Muscovites, families with children, and citizens with disabilities. As Sergei Sobyanin noted, from January 1, 2026, the amount of these payments will be increased by 6%, which exceeds the projected inflation rate.

In addition, the city budget will continue to provide free and discounted travel for certain categories of residents on all types of public transport in Moscow, the Moscow Region and suburban railway lines. It also provides for the financing of benefits and subsidies for housing and communal services.

A separate item of expenditure will be the development of social protection infrastructure — construction, capital and current repairs, as well as equipping specialized institutions. It is planned to allocate 22.1 billion rubles for these purposes.

"The priorities remain the unconditional fulfillment of all social obligations and the provision of high—quality and timely services in institutions of social protection of the population," the mayor of the capital announced.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
