Sergunina spoke about the attendance of the capital's museums in the summer

More than 7 million people visited Moscow museums last summer, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

"Compared to last year's warm season, attendance increased by 11%," she noted.

The most popular venues include the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, the Ostankino and Kuskovo State Palace and Park Museum-Reserve, the Multimedia Art Museum, and the Pushkin State Museum.

In June and August, more than 270 new exhibitions were opened in museums subordinate to the Moscow Department of Culture. Over 140,000 Muscovites and tourists visited the exposition "1775. The Triumph of Catherine II" at the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the estate. There you could see household items of the XVIII century, portraits of Russian commanders, antique weapons, military uniforms.

The Darwin Museum has prepared the exhibition "Russia's vast expanses". It includes paintings by contemporary artists inspired by the landscapes of the Moscow region, Tver and Tula regions, the Urals and the Crimea.

The Pushkin State Museum offered to get acquainted with the bast art of the XVIII-XX centuries. Among other things, illustrations for the poem "The Caucasian Prisoner", the ballad "The Governor", the romance "In the evening, in the rainy autumn ..." and other works were presented here.

In autumn, the capital's museums also invite visitors to various exhibitions. So, on October 23, the exhibition "Victorious 45th" will open at the Moscow State Defense Museum. It is based on the paintings of front—line artists. Until October 26, the Lublino Estate offers to see sculptures and photographs of famous ballet dancers, dance costumes, accessories, and books. Until February 2026, it will be possible to get acquainted with Zhostovo decorative painting in Tsaritsyno.
