The mother of Maxim Kharkin, who was released from Gaza, Natalia Kharkina, in an interview with N12 TV channel on October 15, told details about her son's captivity.

According to the woman, Maxim Kharkin was abducted from a Nova party two months after graduating from officer training.

"Maxim got rid of his phone and military badge. <...> Now that he's back, he says he managed to hide this information from the militants who were holding him," Natalia said.

The interview also notes two videos with Harkin, in one of them he was in bandages, smeared with blood. According to Natalia Kharkina, the bandages were applied specifically to exert pressure, as well as what he said on the video.

According to the released man, it was important for him to make it clear to his family that he was alive.

Earlier that day, Maxim Harkin, who was released from the Gaza Strip, thanked the residents of the Israeli city of Tirat ha Karmael, where he had lived since the age of 17, for their support. Natalia Kharkina also told the Walla portal about the difficulties that the man had to face in captivity.

On October 14, she also said that Harkin wanted to obtain Russian citizenship. He is a native of Donbass. Earlier in the day, the mother of the freed Russian said that the Harkin family plans to come to Moscow in order to thank Russian President Vladimir Putin for rescuing the hostage.

The Israeli Embassy in Russia gave Izvestia a photo of Harkin after he was released from Hamas hostages as part of an agreement to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
