On October 23, the office of the Russian Security Council will host a solemn ceremony to hand over the book "Mongolia's Feat in World War II" to Ambassador Ulziisaikhan Enkhtuvshin, which will be attended by Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Alexander Venediktov, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, Rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities Andrei Loginov and members of the Scientific and Expert Council of the Security Council of Russia.
The presented collection was prepared by the staff of the Russian Security Council in cooperation with the Russian State University of Civil Engineering. The book is dedicated to Soviet-Mongolian relations during the Second World War and Mongolia's contribution to victory in World War II. The collection includes documents and materials about the fighting on the Khalkhin Gol River in 1939, shows the importance of the Mongolian people's assistance to the Red Army, Mongolia's participation in the defeat of the Japanese Kwantung army in August 1945.
The publication is illustrated with unique archival photographs from the collection of the Russian State Archive of Film and Photographic Documents and the State Archive of the Russian Federation. During the handover ceremony, a presentation video about the book "The Feat of Mongolia in the Second World War" is planned to be shown.
Earlier, on October 5, it was reported that a member of the European Parliament (EP) from Slovakia, Lubos Blaga, wore a St. George ribbon at an event on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the Carpathian-Duklin operation. It is specified that the ceremony took place at the war memorial, which is located on the Duklinsky pass on the border with Poland.
