Israel reported on Katz's assignment to the IDF to prepare a plan to defeat Hamas

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said on October 15 that he had instructed the IDF to prepare a "comprehensive plan" for the complete defeat of the radical Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip in the event of a resumption of hostilities. The order was given during a meeting between Katz and the Chief of Staff and senior generals. The plan should include actions in case Hamas refuses to comply with the terms of the proposed agreement, as well as the resumption of active operations. The Ministry stressed that one of the main tasks will be the destruction of tunnels and terrorist infrastructure in Gaza to ensure the demilitarization of the enclave.
