A criminal case has been opened in the Khabarovsk Territory over the death of a worker during the construction of a gas pipeline in the Amur region. This is reported by the regional SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The tragedy occurred in September 2025 on the territory of the construction of the gas pipeline. The investigation believes that the driver of the tracked excavator ignored the foreman's demand not to start work and was not convinced of the safety of the maneuver.

The decisions he made led to the fact that the bucket crushed the worker. The man died on the spot from severe internal injuries, IA AmurMedia writes.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 2 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of safety rules during construction work, resulting in the death of a person by negligence." All the circumstances of the worker's death are being established.

In September, four construction workers died as a result of falling from a height at the construction site where the National Museum of Buryatia is being built. After the tragedy, the governor noted that the weather conditions for construction work in the region were extremely unfavorable due to heavy rainfall.
