The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) could return to the Gaza Strip if US President Donald Trump gives his consent. On October 15, the American leader said this in a telephone interview with CNN.

"I'm thinking about it. Israel will return to these streets as soon as I say the word," Trump said.

He added that he currently has to "restrain" the IDF and the administration of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from continuing the military operation. The politician also stressed the importance of the release of hostages held in the enclave, which took place as part of a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

"The release of these 20 hostages was of paramount importance," the US president said.

On October 13, the first group of seven Israeli hostages released by the radical Palestinian movement Hamas to the IDF in the Gaza Strip was handed over. The second group of 13 hostages was handed over to the Red Cross. Later, Izvestia correspondent Nikita Kulyukhin reported that those released had arrived at a hospital in Tel Aviv.

Trump called October 13 a great day in connection with the end of the conflict in the Gaza Strip and the release of Israeli hostages by the Hamas movement. He stressed that the war between Israel and Hamas is over. According to him, representatives of the Palestinian movement will implement the disarmament plan.

Later, at the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, representatives of Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Turkey signed an agreement to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip. According to Trump, this Gas deal is "the largest and most complex." He also added that the third world war in the Middle East will not start because no one wants it.
