The grandson of Soviet designer Kalashnikov received 14 years in prison for murder

Igor Krasnovsky, the grandson of Soviet and Russian designer Mikhail Kalashnikov, was sentenced to 14 years and one month in prison for his murder and threatening to kill another person. This was announced on October 15 by the united press service of the Udmurt courts in the Telegram channel.

"The jury found that on January 14, 2025, at a cottage located on the 9th km of the Yakshur-Bodyinsky tract, during the drinking of alcoholic beverages and a quarrel that broke out, the defendant inflicted numerous stab wounds on his friend, which proved fatal to the victim," the publication says.

After that, the attacker began threatening to kill the bride of the deceased, while continuing to hold the knife.

During the trial, Krasnovsky pleaded not guilty. According to him, he stabbed his friend to protect himself, and also did not make death threats to his fiancee.

"Due to the fact that Krasnovsky has an unserved sentence under an earlier sentence, he was finally sentenced to 14 years and one month in a high—security penal colony with restriction of liberty for one year, with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to driving for two years," the court concluded.

Earlier that day, it was reported that rock musician Stas Namin was officially recognized as the injured party in the criminal case against his stepson Roman Tkachenko, accused of murdering his stepbrother and grandmother. The meeting was held behind closed doors.

The bodies of Namin's mother-in-law and his 30-year-old son Artyom with multiple stab wounds were found on the night of October 19, 2023 in their house in Kryukovo. It was noted that a dispute arose between the relatives over the sale of the house. During the conflict, the grandson killed his grandmother, after which he called his 30-year-old brother, confessed to what he had done, and when he arrived at the scene, Roman dealt with him.
