Russians will be able to return the tax deduction when buying a home

A new service has been launched on the Gosuslugi portal, which allows citizens to receive a tax deduction for housing purchases, tuition fees, medical treatment and other expenses — up to 15% of their amount. This was announced on October 15 by Senator Artem Sheikin. "Газете.ги ".

According to the parliamentarian, you can use the service completely online, without unnecessary bureaucracy.

"The key stages can be completed online, with tips from the service on choosing the appropriate type of deduction," said Sheikin.

He recalled that a tax deduction is an amount that reduces the income from which the tax is levied, or returns a portion of the previously paid personal income tax. Tax residents of Russia are eligible for deduction — citizens and foreigners who stay in the country for at least 183 days a year and pay personal income tax. If a person does not have an official taxable income, the money cannot be refunded.

The senator also said that six main types of deductions can be made on the portal: standard (for children and preferential categories), social (for education, treatment, sports, charity and pension contributions), property (when buying or selling housing and mortgage interest), professional (for sole proprietors and the self-employed), investment (for securities transactions) and the transfer of losses to future periods.

"The Gosuslugi service will prompt you with a specific list of documents for the selected type of deduction and will allow you to attach scans or photos. As a rule, the refund is 13 or 15% of the confirmed expenses — at the personal income tax rate," Sheikin added.
