A large-scale rally in support of arrested businessman Samvel Karapetyan was held near the building of the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia. Journalist Garik Abelian told Izvestia about this on October 15.

According to him, the protests have been going on in the country for the second day. The day before, more than 7 thousand people, including family, friends and ordinary citizens, came out to express support for the arrested businessman.

"Today <...> people are standing and chanting "Freedom and justice" again, — the journalist noted.

Karapetyan's detention became known on June 18. He was detained for publicly expressing disagreement with the attacks on the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC), which came from the country's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. On the same day, the Investigative Committee of Armenia sent a petition to the court for Karapetyan's detention. He was charged with calling for the seizure of power in Armenia. After that, he was arrested for two months. After that, on September 8, the Court of Appeal in Yerevan kept Karapetyan in custody, rejecting the defense's request.
