In Primorsky Krai, 7.8 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of physical education and sports in 2026. The issue of financing the sports industry was discussed on Wednesday, October 15, at a public hearing on the draft regional budget for 2026-2028.
According to the head of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, Zhan Kuznetsov, more than 7 billion rubles of the total funding will be allocated from the regional budget, about 800 million rubles will come from the federal budget.
The funds will be used for the development of sports schools, the construction of large sports and recreation complexes, the modernization of various facilities, as well as for the implementation of social programs. As an example, Kuznetsov cited the Swimming for All program, which has already been attended by more than 3,000 schoolchildren.
Public discussions on the budget for the next three years started in Primorye on October 15, writes IA PrimaMedia. Governor Oleg Kozhemyako said that in 2026 the budget will maintain a social orientation, and all existing social support measures, of which there are about 100 in the region, will continue to operate.
On October 15, the State Duma adopted amendments to the draft budget of Russia for 2025 in the first reading. The updated provisions of the draft law suggest that the total amount of federal budget revenues for 2025 will amount to 36.6 trillion rubles, with a deficit of 5.7 trillion.
