Russian speed skaters have received visas to the United States and Canada to compete in qualifying competitions for the 2026 Olympics. This was announced on October 15 by the Russian Skating Union (TFR).

"All athletes have received visas to the United States and Canada to participate in the selection process," a representative of the organization told TASS.

In September, the President of the TFR, Nikolai Gulyaev, expressed confidence that Russian speed skaters and short-track athletes would qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. He stressed that the TFR, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and the Russian Olympic Committee are doing everything possible to ensure that Russian athletes have access to competitions.
