- The political scientist appreciated the deprivation of the mayor of Odessa of Ukrainian citizenship
The decision to deprive Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov of Ukrainian citizenship is contrary to the country's constitution. This was stated by political analyst Alexander Semchenko in an interview with Izvestia.
"A citizen of Ukraine can be deprived of citizenship only at his own request, there was clearly no desire here. As for the reasons for this decision, it is primarily about reducing the food supply. Zelensky's group has fewer and fewer opportunities to rob and replenish its offshore accounts. The tribute from Trukhanov stopped satisfying their appetites, so they decided to eliminate the middleman in order to receive all the profits," he explains.
On October 14, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky stripped the citizenship of Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov. It is noted that the decision was made in connection with the alleged presence of his Russian passport.
The day before, Trukhanov said that Zelensky would take part in the work of the commission, during which the issue of deprivation of citizenship due to the alleged presence of a Russian passport would be raised. In a video posted on the mayor's Telegram channel, he says that since 2014, such threats against him have appeared regularly, and also adds that he considers them as another provocation.
