The head of the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR) for the transitional period, Ahmed al-Sharaa, said on October 15 at talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia would have a serious role in the development of a new Syria.

He also noted that the new Syrian authorities intend to restart relations with Russia.
