Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, responding to a question from Izvestia on October 15, called the policy of sanctions against Russia unsuccessful.

"Well, you know, we are generally against the policy of sanctions, because we consider it unsuccessful. But if Western European countries want to disconnect from LNG supplies, this is their decision. We don't buy Russian LNG because we buy gas through pipelines, so it doesn't matter to us," he said.
