Geely has acknowledged problems with the engines of some cars in Russia
The Russian representative office of Geely has admitted that it is aware of complaints from owners of the brand's cars related to incorrect engine operation on some models. However, these cases are isolated and not widespread, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on October 15.
Earlier that day, reports appeared on Telegram channels that owners of new Geely Monjaro, Cityray and Boyue Pro cars began to encounter engine failure, with a possible cause being a factory defect.
"Geely Motors is currently conducting a number of service campaigns aimed at updating the engine control unit software. These measures are being implemented in order to improve the consumer properties of cars and increase the adaptability of engines to possible deviations in the composition and quality of fuel used on the territory of the Russian Federation," Gili-Motors said.
The service campaigns apply, in particular, to the Geely Monjaro model and are implemented by the official Geely dealer network. As indicated in Gili-Motors, as for the Cityray and Boyue Pro mentioned in the publications, the Russian representative office of the brand does not provide warranty service for cars imported into the territory of the Russian Federation through alternative import channels.
