On October 15, Vadim Popov, a public figure and political strategist, launched an initiative to reduce the number of holidays and holidays in Russia. In his opinion, this must be done in the context of a special military operation and a deteriorating economic situation.

"In the context of ITS implementation and the complication of the economic situation in the country, the authorities need to review legislation regarding the number of holidays and holidays per year in the direction of their reduction. Popov proposed reducing paid leave to 21 calendar days, and New Year's holidays to six days. He stressed that the country was losing "hundreds of billions of rubles" due to production downtime during the holidays.
